BBYO Dictionary
AZA (Aleph Zadik Aleph): Division of BBYO for teens who identify as male.
BBG (B'nai B'rith Girls): Division of BBYO for teens who identify as female.
MIT (Member In Training): A newly-joined BBYO member.
Region: A large area made of chapters.
Chapter: A member's primary group where they plan, host, or attend events with other group members.
Ruach (Regional Convention): An annual weekend-long event that consists of working with your chapter to win the EGR spirit stick or cup.
L’dor V’dor ( Regional Convention) End of year convention. Vote for EGR's new regional board and hear senior lives.
IC (International Convention): An annual weekend-long event for all BBYO members across the globe.
Leadership Positions
Godol/N'siah: The President of an AZA (Godol) or BBG (N'siah) chapter or region.
S'ganim: Vice Presidents of Programming—S’gan (AZA); S’ganit (BBG).
Morim: Heads of Membership and Recruitment—Moreh (AZA); Morah (BBG).
Sh’lichim: Heads of Jewish Enrichment—Shaliach (AZA); Sh’licha (BBG).
Mazkirim: Heads of Communication/Media—Mazkir (AZA); Mazkirah (BBG).
Gizborim: Heads of Treasury & Fundraising—Gizbor (AZA); Gizborit (BBG).
